SWISS MEDICAL STUDENTS CONVENTION

The Swiss Medical Students' Convention (SMSC) is a biannual event organized by the Swiss Medical Students’ Association (SWIMSA) in collaboration with a dedicated group of students from the hosting university. From March 28th to 30th, 2025, Lausanne will proudly host the SMSC. This two-day conference will welcome approximately 400 medical students from across Switzerland, providing an engaging and educational experience.

This year’s theme, “Intensive Care Medicine”, will explore the vital field of intensive care and its pivotal role in modern healthcare. From cutting-edge interventions and life-saving technologies to multidisciplinary approaches in critical care , the conference will also dive into how essential disciplines like anesthesia and microbiology contribute to the success of intensive care medicine, while ensuring patient stability during critical procedures and combating infections in vulnerable patients.

SMSC 2025 will highlight the latest innovations and practices in this dynamic specialty. Through thought-provoking lectures, hands-on workshops, and interactive discussions, participants will gain invaluable knowledge and inspiration to better understand the challenges and advancements in intensive care medicine and its profound impact on patient outcomes.
